About

Cheryl's journey as a special needs educator started back in 2015. She attained her Advanced Diploma in Education for Special Needs (ADESN) where she acquired the necessary skills to provide a child-centred approach that caters to individualised learning needs. She also has valuable experiences working with individuals aged 0-10 years, with a range of different profiles (e.g. Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Intellectual Disability, Cerebral Palsy, Global Developmental Delay, and other rare genetic conditions etc).

Having been part of a transdisciplinary team, she strongly believes in close collaboration, not just with the different therapists, but also with the individual families that she serves. In the classroom, Cheryl adopts a play-based approach in ensuring that students use their creativity while developing skills in the different domains. Besides that, she finds joy in creating a safe and supportive environment as she coaches caregivers and team members.

During her free time, Cheryl enjoys aerial yoga and seeks adventurous activities (e.g. kayak, zipline, trekking) in new destinations.
